Week Six: Users, Maintaining and Command-Line Interface This week chapters reading focused on various aspects like chapter 13 (Users, Groups, and Permissions), chapter 14 (Maintaining and Optimizing Operation), and chapter 15 (Working with the Command-Line Interface). In each of the chapter are contents that shine a bright-light Personal Computer (PC) used. Video Presentations: Speaking of chapters, both videos’ presentations were somehow helpful going into specific details discussion. Video one went into the optimization of Windows 10 1903. Windows 10 comes with many different features, and by default, most of the features are active. I believe from my perspective that, many of these features are turned on by default to keep the computer on autopilot mode because of the faces that Microsoft may have realized not all users have much experience with computer. As for those with far better experiences, they have the option of going into Setting and optimizing Windows in a way that t...

Week Five: Essential Peripherals and Windows Like every other week, this week videos topics and discussions regarding, reinstall/clean install, power menu mobility, and how to speed up the performance of your Windows operating system, was very interesting and helpful. I’m hoping that if not all, but most of my classmate were able to accumulate as much information by watching all three video presentations. This week topics (chapters) focus on, Essential Peripherals, Building a PC, and Windows Under the Hood. Each topic was unique and informatively, and most importantly, I was able to learn far more detail aspects than I knew. Seen is one thing and reading and understanding full details about what you have seen is completely different thing. In chapter 10, Essential Peripherals for example, provided the distinguish details between the “USB Standards and Compatibility.” I was able to learn the very details speed of each Universal Serial Bus (USB1.1, 2.0,3.0, and 3.1). This is the break-do...
Week Four: Motherboard, Storage and Power-Supply After watching the video regarding Computer Hardware Repair, I find it to be helpful especially for individual who are handily (people who rather search the web for step- by-step procedure on something common then to pay more than the issue). The video also point-out simple tools that are needed for do-it yourself. But overall, I find the video to be very informatively explaining just about every little detail that we sometimes overlook. With that said, the motherboard provides the unique access by given people the abilities to build a computer the way they choose. Unlike the motherboard of the past, the number of technologies the motherboard of today provide are very sophisticated in every way imaginable.  Today motherboards come with variety of connectivity ports attach like: ·          Bios Flashback Button ·          Digital Visual Interface-Dua...

Week 3: CPUs, Memory (RAM) and Firmware I was extremely surprised to learn about the variety of manufacturers that build computer components in this week topics regarding: Central Processing Unit (CUP), Random Access Memory (RAM) and Firmware. In between personal activities such as work, and the taken two classes and assignments are due by the end of work week, I was able to accumulate as must info and understanding regarding each of the components (CUPs, RAM, and Firmware) being discussed. I am looking forward to spending much of my personal time reading and learning about these manufacturers and just about ever other components that makeup a computer because it is a must to become a successful computer tech. Known as Microprocessor also, the Central Processing Unit “is a single silicon-based electronic chip that make” a computer work. Many considered the CPU (a very powerful intelligent calculating machine) as the brain of a computer, responsible for collecting and executing u...

Week Two: The Visible Computer  Our discussion topics for this week is about The Visible Computer (how a PC works, identifying connectors and devices on a typical PC system unit and major components of a PC) and how powerful and affective it has become. We relied on computers (technologies) for our day-to-day activities and most of all, with the introduced of graphic elements, we can efficiency accomplish tasks of activities in the matter of minutes that was impossible to accomplish using older versions of Windows that used no graphical elements or graphic period. With that being said, “a modern computer consists of three components” and they are: Hardware, Operation System OS, and Applications. On the typical PC system unit are variety of connectors and devices that you need for a PC to function properly. Over the years of innovation, many of those connectors and devices have been upgraded to produce power and efficiency and will continued to improve as years goes by. Depend...

Week One: Safety and Professionalism My name is Edward Cooper, and I was born and raised in Monrovia, Liberia, located on the West Coast of Africa. I came to the United Stated, November of 1996 and has been living in the beauty State of New Jersey since my arriver. As some of you may or may not know, Liberia isn't the beauty county it once was due to a Civic War that lasted for 14 years and destroying just about everything's.  I build my very first computer in 2013 and I am currently working on updating and building a server that house six hard drive, three of which are 500 (gigabyte) GB each and the other three are one (terabyte) TB each. I got my Associate of Science in Information Technology in 2009. Unfortunately, I was unable to get a job due to the Economic Recession, so I decided to go and get my Bachelor of Science in Network Management. After a year in my bachelor’s degree program, I decided to drop out due to financial hardship.  I have my certifications in: Java Pro...
