Week Six: Users, Maintaining and Command-Line Interface
This week chapters reading focused on various aspects like
chapter 13 (Users, Groups, and Permissions), chapter 14 (Maintaining and
Optimizing Operation), and chapter 15 (Working with the Command-Line Interface).
In each of the chapter are contents that shine a bright-light Personal Computer
(PC) used.
Video Presentations:
Speaking of chapters, both videos’ presentations were somehow
helpful going into specific details discussion. Video one went into the
optimization of Windows 10 1903. Windows 10 comes with many different features,
and by default, most of the features are active.
I believe from my perspective that, many of these
features are turned on by default to keep the computer on autopilot mode
because of the faces that Microsoft may have realized not all users have much
experience with computer. As for those with far better experiences, they have
the option of going into Setting and optimizing Windows in a way that they find
suitable for their need.
The video one presentation focused on Windows 10
optimization, and video two is focused on changing the system language. Microsoft
knew that by including all these various aspects (changing system language),
there will be potential for its product to have the whole world using its
products. The option of having the ability to change language in PC to your
prefect language is beneficial because we live in a world where people from all
background speaking different languages.
Textbook discussion:
Like mentioned in the beginning of this blog, chapter
13 provided a whole lot of details on Users, Groups and Permissions. These three
aspects play a role in networking environment where certain individuals are
given certain access to flies and folders. Creating and placing users into
groups in addition to assigning permissions is helpful and make the job of an
administrators little easier to keep track of network activities.
Chapter 14 is the second reading for the week, and it’s
focused on Maintaining and Optimizing Operating System. I refer to chapter 14
as the Hospital in a joke full way because it’s where life of the PC lies. If the
chapter is properly used on a daily based, the performance of your PC will
improve efficiency. This process can be implemented and execute by any PC user
as long you know the process work, and most importantly, you don’t have to be
an administrator.
Last but not the lease is chapter 15 – Working with
the Command-Line Interface. Unlike the pervious chapters, this chapter is
little more advance in that it’s focus on coding. An average person with coding
experience should benefit from this chapter contents.
Overall, I personally find chapter 13 and 15 as chapter that I can see myself visiting time after time because of the contents that provided and discussed.
