Week 11: Printers and Multifunctional Devices
The focus for this week topic point to Printers and
Multifunctional Devices-which is essential to our everyday operations, and that
brings me to the weekly objectives for this week eleven aspects.
·
Define printer types and features,
·
Learn how to install and share printers
and how to manage printer features, add-on devices, and the printer queue.
·
Discuss routine maintenance tasks
necessary to support printers.
·
Troubleshoot printer problem.
There are various types of printers with different
features because there are more than one manufactures (HP, Dell, Samsung, Canon,
etc.) that produces printers. Technology has changed the way we used printers,
and thanks to all the multifunctional that has added. Over decades ago, printers
had far less multifunctional technologies than it does today. You can have one
printer execute just about everything today and much faster than a few numbers
of devices do in the past. Most printers we used today are equip with the
following features:
·
Scanner.
·
Copier.
·
Fax
·
USE Connection
·
Wireless/Wi-Fi connectivity.
·
Digital Display.
·
SD-Card reader.
·
Ink
The USB feature allow the user to connect most
digital devices like camera and smartphone alike.
There are various ways to install and printer,
whether in home or in business corporation. Depending on the version and platform
you may be using, all you need to do is, open setting, and locate the bar. Once
the search bar has been located, type in the name of the printer in which you
want to install and follow the on-screen instruction to complete the process. You
will be sharing that printer with other employees, just to keep in mind.
Network administrators has a way of organizing and assigning
printers to departments accordingly, but can also restrict department A from
having to print out of department B. The purpose for this is to manage and
maintain all network printers. Grouping assigning printer makes the job of a
network administrator much easily by allowing them to locate and fix solve any
issues.
The routine maintenance tasks that are necessary to support
printers will vary depending on the types of printers. Some printer’s features (technology)
required and used different ink, belts, and motors, and those components will
need to be change at time. One of the most essential ways to execute the maintain
process is to follow the manufacture guild-line. All digital printers are equipped
to send users and alert message when all or one cartridge is running low and
empty, or event when there is an issue with the printer.
